This intriguing photograph print, depicting the iconic landmarks of Washington D.C. in the United States during the 1910s, features an unusual and fascinating element that sets it apart from other vintage souvenir images. The scene includes the Arlington Memorial Bridge, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Washington Monument. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that this image has undergone some of the worst piece of photographic retouching one could imagine. The Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument appear to be drawn over the original photograph, with heavy, ineffective lines that do little to blend seamlessly with the surrounding image. The Arlington Memorial Bridge, too, has been overdrawn, with lines that are uneven and inconsistent. The result is a messy, disjointed image that is far from the polished, professional appearance one might expect from a collectible print. Despite the poor quality of the retouching, this photograph remains an interesting and worthy addition to any collection of Americana or Washington D.C. memorabilia.
