A Westland Whirlwind helicopter was swiftly dispatched to transport Derek from Orsett Hospital to Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood, Middlesex. The helicopter gracefully touched down on a cricket field marked with sheets bearing the letter "H" for "here" symbolizing hope and salvation. This extraordinary image captures not only the heroism of those involved but also serves as a testament to human resilience and compassion during times of crisis. As news spread about Derek's journey through the skies aboard this life-saving aircraft, communities were united in support and prayers for his recovery.
